Karen Cannon's 60th Birthday

Back on April 19th, my mom turned 60.  I really, really wanted to go up and surprise her for her birthday and have a surprise birthday party too!  In January, I called my Dad to get his thoughts and discussed it with my siblings who all thought it was a great idea.  The only problem was that I was about 6 weeks away from having a baby and my sister Liz had just had a baby who was on oxygen.  We had discussed having the party at Rob's family cabin, but Liz couldn't take her baby into high elevations without it messing with his air.  My other sister Brittanie offered to have the party at her house.  We planned dinner and we all chipped in on an ipod nano for her.  

On my mom's birthday, I got really sick.  I ended up in the hospital for about 6 hours so they could monitor the baby because I had a high fever.  I was worried that the Dr wouldn't let me travel.  The next morning I went in for my appointment and just told them that I was leaving so we left that afternoon when Rob got off work. 

We spent the night in Kanab, and then got up Saturday morning and drove the rest of the way.  We stayed with Rob's parents in West Valley City.  When we got there, we left the kids with his parents and drove up to check on our house in Layton.  We also picked up some gluten free treats for my Dad and I at my favorite bakery in Kaysville.  Then we came back to his parents, got ready and picked up dinner at Olive Garden, and headed to Brittanie's house.  

My mom was so surprised!  It was awesome!  She cried. :(

The only other thing that I managed to take a picture of the entire time we were there was when we went to dinner with Rob's parents and his sister Becky and her husband Kevin.  Becky and I are only 2 weeks apart.  We've been pregnant together three times now.  I'm pretty sure this will be the last time this happens.

We also spent a few days at the cabin with Rob's parents.  Lyla ended up being sick with a sinus infection, so we came home earlier than originally planned.  We drove straight through.  We were pretty much done with the trip.
