Lyla learns to write her name and a trip to Bashas

For weeks I have tried to help Lyla learn how to hold a pencil. She will hold it correctly if I help her but the minute I turn away, she changes how she's holding it.
Anyways, I have also been trying to help her write her name. I have no idea how she figured out the uppercase Y, because I have only showed her how to write the lowercase y.  Oh well, she's trying.

I think that I've mentioned before how much Lyla loves to go to the local grocery store Bashas.  She loves it because they have a 'Cub house' where the kids can go play while the parents are shopping.  It's free and they get to play and do crafts.
This month Lyla had a birthday so her name got to be up on the wall.
She was thrilled!

My kids have always done uppercase before learning lowercase:) i think most kids are like that though.
