On Tuesday, Rob and I braved taking the four girls to eat at Dairy Keen for lunch. We planned to meet Izzy's Grandma Joann, Joann's niece Julie and Julie's 2 kids there to exchange Izzy for Thanksgiving. Izzy is supposed to spend either Thanksgiving or Christmas with her Dad's family and it rotates every year. Since we were going to be up for Thanksgiving, we told her that she could go with them while we were there or have them fly her up for Christmas. She picked Thanksgiving.
The trip to Dairy Keen was pretty much a disaster. Lyndsey behaved the best, but she got bored of her car seat and needed to be held. Lyla and Lauren were all over the place and then one of Rob's clients called so he had to take the call. I hardly got to eat anything. I had Lyla help me take my favorite shake to the car so I could carry the car seat and she dropped it 5 feet from the car. It was a very sad moment.
Later in the day, Grandma Jan and Papa Tom came up with Rob's sister Megan to the cabin. They stopped at another favorite gluten free spot for me and picked up my order on their way. I was able to enjoy gluten free rolls, stuffing, pie, orange rolls and cupcakes thanks to them! Megan lives in Boston and hadn't met Lyndsey yet. The girls were so excited to see their Grandparents!
